The Tobacco Treatment Clinic is seeking a full-time Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) in our department. College degree in psychology is preferred. Other acceptable fields of study are social work, health, or respiratory therapy. The TTS works with patients both in the inpatient and outpatient areas in the reduction and elimination of tobacco use. Assessment of patient's medical history and tobacco use begins the process of helping a patient move to a non smoking lifestyle. The TTS collaborates with the Tobacco Treatment Clinic Coordinator, the in house physician and/or referring physician for optimal strategies for success. Weekly sessions with patients in a group and individual setting will be expected. Moving toward a certification in tobacco treatment will be expected. Applicant will be expected to have good computer, organizational, and time management skills. Communication skills will also be essential in counseling patients and calling patients for follow-up and scheduling.
