This 27 bed Infectious Disease Unit provides the highest quality of care to our patients. The patients admitted to this floor are a high acuity medical surgical population who also have an Infectious Disease. You can expect to care for 3 or 4 patients, although our goal remains 3:1.The Registered Nurse plans and provides comprehensive nursing care including, but not limited to executing orders, dispensing and administering medications, and performs all technical/clinical procedures within the scope of his/her education and licensure. Teamwork is essential on this unit as it can be fast paced and challenging.
Your orientation will consist of 3 weeks for experienced nurses and 12 weeks for new graduates. A telemetry certification is required, ACLS is preferred, but can be obtained through our Career Institute. You may be enrolled in our medical surgical course at your request or at the discretion of the nurse manager.
