Registered Nurse (RN ST)

Location: WK Bossier Department: Nursing Service - NS-Stroke Unit Classification: Full-Time Shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM Date Posted: 4/3/2023 Description: This 6 bed Stroke Intermediate Care Unit monitors and cares for moderately stable patients. It offers a challenging and fast-past environment to the motivated professional. The patients admitted to this unit require extensive stroke assessments. They also may require titrating drips and invasive monitoring. Education is an important part of this position as well. Our patients typically have diagnosis of TIA,CVA(ischemic and hemorrhagic), and rule out TIA/CVA. They need a higher level of monitoring than the typical med/surg patient.  The lower nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 allows the nurse to collaborate with the healthcare delivery team, the patients, and their families for a coordinated plan of care. Support staff is available on this unit to maximize and compliment the team. Your orientation will be individualized and you will be cross-trained to Stepdown and ICU. You will be scheduled for our Stroke academy and will be NIH Stroke Scale certified.
