Description:
The Medical Assistant will work with the multi-disciplinary team in a multi-organ transplant program outpatient clinic setting in a clerical and clinic assistant role. Activities include application of knowledge of the UNOS and CMS regulations governing transplant patients that span from compilation of transplant specific medical records, generation of specific documentation tools to reflect the unique regulatory and compliance requirements of transplant patients in addition to standard of care documents.
Assist the Transplant Clinical Coordinator with administrative tasks (faxing, phone calls), helping with medication refills, entries in medical records, scheduling of tests/appointments, communicating with transplant patients, data entry into supportive transplant database, greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room; taking medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
The applicant selected for this position will be required to attend a hospital wide orientation as well as a department orientation upon hire.
Medical Assistant certification (CMA)
Must be a graduate of an approved medical assistant program.
National certification preferred.
