JOB TITLE: FACILITY MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager shall be a professional who coordinates the efforts of the Wellness Center and staffs of other disciplines involved with client services to insure a smooth and efficiently run center.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Fitness & Wellness Director.
Interrelationships include supervising Front Desk Staff, Nursery staff, Housekeeping Staff, and working with clients, wellness staff, and other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a smoothly running and efficient department by organizing delivery of services.
- Assists in assuring efficient and comprehensive services.
- Identifies and studies problems and assists in their solution.
- Works closely with Director, Fitness Coordinator, Business Manager, and System Aerobics Leader in planning and evaluating Wellness Staff and inventory.
- Plans for the most efficient use of space, staff, and facilities.
- Maintains a working liaison between the Wellness administrative, rehabilitation team, and other departments.
- Assists with the maintenance of staff records and payroll.
- Assists in assuring efficient and comprehensive staff conferences.
- Assists the Fitness Coordinator in program evaluation for effectiveness.
- Is a role model for the community, staff, and clients.
- Stays abreast of the problems and concerns of wellness clients.
- Responsible for the daily operations and works closely with the Director in strategic planning for the facility.
- Voices opinions, concerns, and suggestions regarding the care of clients and the wellness program to the Fitness and Wellness Management Team at regular meetings.
- Makes regular inspections of the building for cleanliness and makes recommendations to the custodial staff regarding cleaning duties and schedules.
- Works closely with the Building Supervisor, Engineering, and Maintenance to prevent potential problems and effectively solve problems that occur.
- Reports Mechanical, HVAC, and Electrical problems to maintenance and assists in establishing priority of scheduled repairs.
Supervises the front desk staff, nursery staff, and fitness instructors.

Stays current with the new methods and practices in Wellness Programs.
Able to function under stress or in a crisis situation.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Exercise Science Degree or Degree in Related Field or two or more years in a wellness facility in a supervisory role.
2. Must hold current BCLS certification.
